Once again, back at the World Forestry Center for another hot and sunny Saturday! I can’t even remember the last time I was rained out. Knock on wood!
Tonight, my new friends Jill and Josh are getting married, and I even have my beautiful wife Wendy on hand to help do a little Day Of Coordination for us! Always a great night when you get to work with your better half! Wendy is an old pro when it comes to event planning, and I was thrilled to hear she was to come out of “retirement” to work this show with me. I often serve as the coordinator, and it was great to have such trusted help!
I haven’t played under the tent at WFC in a few years, so it was a treat to be reminded just how simply they have designed the area for events. With the tent divided in two, ceremony and reception were all just a few steps away from each other, with cocktails served in the open air. Ceremony music was handled by live musician friends of the bride and groom, and I was happy to see my old friends from White Rabbit Studioz taking pictures.
One of the things I loved most about this wedding was the style of it all. The tent was lined with flowing linens, and the center pieces and wedding cake all had a very naturalistic vibe. I have to say that this wedding cake display was one of the coolest I have ever seen- and it was delicious, too!
For dinner, the ceremony side of the tent was transformed to a buffet, and the guests all settled in for a big meal before we all cut loose and did some dancing.

While my camera missed a lot of the couple on the dance floor, I did manage to snap a great shot of Josh and his daughter. I always love this family dance thing. No matter how many I see, I still get a little choked up at a good Father and Daughter dance- especially when the father is the groom.
I even got a chance to take my wife out the dancefloor for a little reliving of our own 1st dance (Sinatra, of course.) It was a perfect night, and I was thrilled to be a part of it. Josh and Jill are a superhero team of a couple, and I know we are going to see great things from both of them soon!
